I’ve returned from a 4 day trip to hike section 5 of the Ozark Highlands Trail – from the Big Piney trail head west to the Ozone campground trail head.My 2 prior trips on the OHT were after extended dry periods so I was hoping to catch things in a green and well-hydrated state and the timing was pretty much perfect for that.  Wildflowers were blooming, trees were leafing, and water was flowing in every little stream.  I finally saw the scenery for which that part of Arkansas is famous.
