Shores Lake & White Rock Mountain Loop

I hiked the Shores Lake & White Rock Mountain Loop on a Sierra Club outing with a group of people from the Kansas City area.  It was my second time doing the whole loop but the weather was nice & clear this time so the views from the top were even better than last.  There was also more water in the creeks, making for better scenery.

We didn’t have time to do the whole Rim Trail on top of White Rock Mountain, but did get out to the western overlook – Sunset Point – for a rest stop before heading down the east side of the mountain.

Although the weather forecast had a 0% chance of rain, we did get a bit Sunday morning.  Overall the weather was pretty darn nice, especially for January.
