I had the privilege today of working with 3 other members of the Ozark Highlands Trail Association to clear the trail from Indian Creek to the Lick Branch trail head. It was in pretty good shape with only 3 trees down on the trail and very minor brush.
This section of the trail includes the Marinoni Scenic Area. There was a bit of water flowing in Briar Branch but not enough to be photogenic. Indian Creek and Herrods Creek were dry, which is apparently pretty typical this time of year.
Along the way I saw this Indian Pipe – only the second time I’ve seen it in the wild.
The OHTA has a lot of work coming-up in the Hurricane Creek Wilderness so I hope to get in on some of that.
