I did a little impromptu trail work today on OHT section 3 between the Cherry Bend trail head and Hare Mountain.  I cleared a couple small trees and lots of little branches from the corridor.  I left one large tree for someone with a chain saw.

My first backpacking trip on the OHT was on this section, but we went east from the Morgan Fields trail head so today I saw the rest of the section.  I had lunch at the picnic table on top of the mountain – turkey jerky and a granola bar.  Of course, there were some great views up there.

I think a hawk decided to skip the turkey and have a little woodpecker instead.
